The mushroom was solitary. There were no members of the same species found anywhere close by. This was a mature mushroom when collected, therefore that is why it was hard to determine its characteristic appearnce as a young mushroom required for a proper identification.
Habitat
The mushroom was growing on the humus of connifer needles (which were rotten). It was surronded by the hemlock and other conifers.
