Morphological Description
Rhizomorphs extending from some fruiting bodies.
Cap disk broadly umbonate.
Fibrillous scales/hairs on cap golden-yellow in color when viewed from the side, light redish-brown from the top.
Some annular cells greater than 8um in diameter.
Only one basidia emmerges from each basal clamp.

From analysis of morphology this mushroom appeared to be Armillaria sinapina. Genetic sequence data conflicts with this identification. The array of taxonomic keys within Armillaria species, particularly those of western North America, is limited. Althoug

Specimens were found clustered and unclustered on a dead and decaying coniferous stump(hemlock?) The surrounding forest floor was inhabited by native flora.
