The caps of several mushrooms often grow together. Conifer needles are often stuck to the base of the stipe. Most of the gill morphology slots were left empty because this mushroom has spines.
Habitat
Under a large Tsuga heterophylla growing directly on dead conifer needles near a dry stream bed.
