Solitary. White stalk, purple cap with a brown centre. No latex. No smell. No immediate staining. Slightly peppery taste, which is slow to develop.
Habitat
In a very moist area on the soil underneath a stand of hemlock trees. The forest in which this area is located is primarily coniferous.
