This sample was collected from the lower part of the standing dead western Hemlock. DNA ITS sequence is available for this sample.
Habitat
On a standing dead Westen Hemlock (Tsuga heterophylla ). These conks were found going all the way up and around the tree. There was also a fallen Westen Hemlock beside that also had smaller Fomitopsis pinicola growing on it.
