Notes
According to BLAST, the 18S ribosomal RNA region most closely matches that of Cortinarius sordidemaculatus, a species from Finland/Sweden. It also closely resembles C. ionosmus and C. ochrophyllus in terms of characteristics, but not colour. These are also Fennoscandian species, and not found locally until this point.
Habitat
Growing in the ground, on a slope in fallen Western red cedar needles and other decaying debris. Surrounded by hemlock shrubs, and more established Western red cedars in the area.
