Morphologically similar to Lactarious delicious, but L. rubrilacteus has a deep dark red latex, as opposed to the predominantly orange one of L. delicious. Also often named L. sanguifluus.
Habitat
Solitary, growing under conifers. Growing among Bryidae moss, on top of dark soil.
