Family name is abiguous: it is listed as Cortinariaceae (Singer 1951), Strophariaceae (Index Fungorum 2009) and Hymenogastraceae (Matheney 2006); small, golden to rust brown mushroom; pileus conic to convex, umbonate when young; stipe hollow, concolourous with pileus, coated with fibrils below the annulus; veil absent; spore ovate and rugulous with a smooth suprahilar depression, dextrinoid; likely conspecific with Galerina marginata.
Habitat
Within 1m of the trail; scattered on twig litter and Tsuga heterophylla needles; Tsuga heterophylla, Thuja plicata and Alnus rubra as dominant tree species; Plagiomnium spp. moss nearby.
