Macroscopic Characters and Microscopic Characters: Averaged measurements taken between 4 specimen: Height of entire specimen: 5.08 cm Length of stem: 4.70 cm Width of cap: 2.50 cm Height of cap at the centre: 1.6 cm Width of stem at apex: 0.3 cm Widest width of stem: 0.5 cm The cap is dry, and campanulate in shape (bell-shaped). It is striated half way towards the centre and is dull in color. Appears to be a light cinnamon brown, but darker, grey-brown extending towards the outside. (The top of the cap is the lightest in color and it becomes darker as the cap extends from the centre). Gills on the underside of the cap are adnate or adnexed and are very dark brown in color. The stem of the mushroom is central. The stem is fragile, hollow and terete (round) in shape. In addition, it is of a smooth texture and is white in color. There is a mild taste to this mushroom and color changes with time. (Color fades and becomes greyer/ darker with age). Veil is absent. Spore print was unattainable due to the maturity of the specimen. Pallid gills became black, and deliquesced onto the glass slide. However, spores were observed on the slide to be dark brown. Spores of the specimen were measured to be on average, 7.7 µm (micrometers or microns) in height and 5 µm in width. The spores contained a central pore. Viewing through a compound light microscope cellular pileipellis was observed from the cross section of the gill, a part from the basidium and basidiospores. The cellular pileipellis appeared round, one to multiple layers deep.
