After processing the corrected DNA sequence into BLAST, the fungus was identified to be Russula nigricans. The macroscopic properties of this fungi was very similar to that of R. Dissumulans and R. Densifolia. (ie texture, taste, flat pileus with deoressed centre, size dimensions, and color changing from red to black when bruised).
Habitat
Growing in soil containing decomposing leaves and trees. Growing alone in solitary in dark damp soil under large conifer trees.
