Cap: 4-10 cm in diameter, broad, rounded becoming convex to plane. Its surface is slightly viscid when moist. The color is creamy and golden yellow, slightly darker at the center. The whitish universal veil entirely covers the youngest mushrooms. On mature mushrooms, the universal veil leaves whitish spots or scales, which may wash or wear off with age.
Gills: free, crowded, narrow and white
Stalk: 5-13 cm, smooth about the ring and scaly below. It is 0.5-2 cm in diameter at the base, narrowing slightly towards the cap. The stalk is white when fresh, but yellowish tinge when dry.
Veil: The universal veil that causes the whitish spots on the cap are cottony, white and also forms a collar-like volva at the top of the basal bulb. A partial veil is membranous and white forming a fragile, skirt-like ring on the stalk.
