These specimens were quite young, as the partial veil had not yet been removed to expose the gills, and they had not grown to their full size. The spiderweb-like partial veil covered the gills completely. It is difficult to ascertain the fate of the veil, since all specimens were not fully grown.
Height (at collection): 2.5-3.5 cm
Diameter of the Pileus: 1 cm.
Pale purple color of the pileus and stipe. When dried, the violet color faded significantly, and all the white parts turned brown and beige.
Pileus smooth in texture, feeling almost feathery or velvety, although it was not glabrous at all.
Pileus Margin: Circular and slightly irregular, although this characteristic appeared to possibly smooth out with age.
Gills:
Brown, but literature suggests this may change with age as well
Spore Print: Revealed white to light pink/peach colored spores
Odour: Strong and unpleasant, smelling stale and rotten. Had to be kept in a shoe box to prevent the odour from escaping into the room where it was stored.
Stipe: Narrower at the top near the pileus than at the bottom, making its diameter difficult to determine.
Somewhat cartilaginous, and easily removed and cross-sectioned.
