Notes
Convex to plane cap, 6.5cm in diameter, with a deep red, brown colour. Stipe is a more red, purple colour fading white in the middle, and pores are bright yellow. Spores are ellipsoid to oblong, 12.5-15 x 3.75-5um and cystidia are cylindrical, 37.5-40 x 6.25-7.5um. Minimal blue staining after long air exposure, no distinct odor, and mild to slight acidic taste.
Habitat
Mossy, humus, moist soil, gregarious to scattered at the base of dead hemlock and alder trees on a cliff side.
