Both G. camerina and G. mammillata are close to G. sideroides and G. stylifera. We don't have types. Funga Nordica has a description of G. camerina. Matchmaker has a description of G. mammillata, presumably extracted from Smith.
G. mammillata applied because its stipe, like the specimen's, is dark reddish all the way to the top. G. camerina's upper stipe is pale.
Habitat
Forest dominated by Douglas fir. Understory consists mainly of Gaultheria shallon (salal) and Vaccinium parvifolium (red huckleberry).
