morphology summary |

Notes
|
-Cap convex, velvety, smooth, regular and dry with an indentation in the center of older specimens. In mature specimens collected, centre of cap fades to brown or buff and eventually all brown with purple undertones. Caps are vibrant purple, lilac when young and fresh.
-Stem: Few stray hairs on longitudinally striate, ribbed stem. Rugulose tough texture. Slighly bulbous at base, but otherwise equal and centrally attached to cap. Color is uniform light lilac. Striations become darker as mushroom matures and fade to brown with age.
-Gills were equal and had long and short gills. Gills thick, veined and waxy. When fresh, bright lilac, but darkening to dull, waxy purple wiht dusting of white (from spores) as the mushroom dries.
-Basidia had 2 sterigmata |
