morphology summary |

Notes
|
Cap of older speciments were depressed, and viscid when wet. When fresh, the mushroom was a darker tan around the edgs, and a lighter tan in the center. Young speciments were not viscid when wet, and were uniformly a medium tan colour. Mild fish odour only present in mature specimens. Taste was mild and peppery, but only kicked in approximately 20 seconds after tasting. Gills and stalk were white, but bruised brown with handling and drying. Spore print was not successful and did not produce any spores. However, the slide produced some spores which stained with Meltzer's reagent. spores were approx 10 micro meters in length and width with single warts. Some cystidia were cyldindrially shaped, and others were more rounded at the top. Gill trama arrangement was irregular, and no cheilocystidia were observed. A young mushroom had a cap 4.5cm in width, and a stalk 3.5cm in length |
