Notes
|
Macroscopic features:
Pileus 10-38 x 6-17 mm, parabolic to pulvinate, dry to slightly viscid, smooth with no distinct scales, deep yellow with small ferruginous patches, opaque dull yellow margin. Pileus margin regular, decorated with brown fibrous veil remnants. Brown, fibrous veil on young specimen. Pileus has mild to farinaceous smell, mild taste, no latex.
Lamellae adnexed to sinuate, yellowish, closely spaced.
Stipe 20-92 mm long, 3-9 mm thick, hollow, central, fibrillose, white to yellowish at the top, gradually becoming ferruginous-brown towards the base. No persistent membranous ring annulus.
Spore print cinnamon-brown.
Microscopic features:
Spores 7.5-10 x 4-5 µ, smooth, generally inequilateral, with an inconspicuous apical pore, yellow-brown in KOH, slightly dextrinoid.
Basidia 27.5-30 x 7.5 µ, 4-spored, and yellowish in both KOH and Melzer’s reagent.
No pleurocystidia or chrysocystidia. Cheilocystidia, if present, were inconspicuous.
Gill trama hyphae slightly interwoven, diameter ~5 µ, hyaline to yellow in KOH, yellowish-hyaline to yellow in Melzer’s reagent. |
