Notes
|
Cap and stipe morphological traits apply to apothecia, and spore traits apply to ascospores. Additional characteristics described below.
Apothecia:
- saucer-like, round disc with short stalk (almost sitting)
- dries yellowish
- ectal excipulum: ~20 µm thick, "textura globulosa", slight brown tint
- medullary excipulum: hyaline, composed of roughly parallel, tightly intertwined hyphae
Asci:
- 9 µm (8.5 - 10 µm) long
- cylindrical-clavate
- unitunicate with apical pores
- each ascus likely contains eight ascospores with irregular biseriate organization (exact observations were not able to be made)
Ascospores:
- aseptate
- hyaline with numerous tiny droplets
Paraphyses:
- hyaline
- cylindrical
- ~1 µm wide
