Yellow when fresh, becomes darker, more brown when dry. Rough, bumpy texture. Found on underside of Fomitopsis pinicola (mounceae). Pores containing black/dark brown perithecia. Pores are visible to naked eye, need dissecting microscope to see perithecia. Perithecia contain asci that are elongated and contain 16 ascospores. Perithecium ostiole is 37.5 um in width; the asci are 2.5 um wide and 75 um long; and the ascospores are 2.5 um x 2.5 um.
